URA says factories at Tech Park Crescent in Tuas are allowed to convert up to 40% of the floor area into dormitories for their own workers.
The reply came in response to an article in STOMP yesterday (Apr 21), in which STOMPer Robert wonders if it was legal for the factories to house workers at night.

STOMPer Robert says more and more factories, like this one in Tech Park Crescent in Tuas, are being converted into workers’ quarters at night, and he wonders if this is legal.
The STOMPer says it might be unsafe working in the area, especially after the recent murder of a foreman by foreign workers living there.

It seems like they are sprouting everywhere. Owners are turning their
factories are now converted to foreign workers’ quarters, in bid to
earn bigger dollars. Cases can be found in many parts of Singapore
especially in Tuas, particularly in Tech Park Crescent, a small
industrial estate by day and “Little India” by night.
Not that I am racist or against [...]
